Privacy Statement
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This statement explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website or send an inquiry through it, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, the same information is intended to meet its requirements.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for this website is:
Tamara Marie Johnson, trading as The Perception Lab
Switzerland
Email: info [at] perceptionlab.ch
2. What data is processed
Inquiry form. When you submit the inquiry form, I receive the information you enter: your name, email address, company or organization, preferred package, estimated date and location, preferred language, and any details you write in the free-text field. Please do not include sensitive personal data (for example health information) in that field. Dietary requirements can be discussed later in general terms.
Server logs. When you open this website, the hosting provider automatically records technical data in server logs such as your IP address, the date and time of access, the pages requested, and browser and device information. This is needed to deliver the site securely and to detect misuse.
Cookies and tracking. This website does not use advertising cookies or analytics tools.
3. Why the data is processed
- To answer your inquiry, prepare an offer, and arrange a call (this also covers steps taken before a contract is concluded).
- To carry out and invoice an event if you book one.
- To run the website securely and stably (server logs).
- To meet legal obligations such as bookkeeping and retention duties.
Your data is not sold, and it is not used for advertising or automated decision-making. Inquiry data is used only to respond to you and, if you book, to deliver the event. It is not added to a newsletter list without your separate consent.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps before and performance of a contract), Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure website and in answering business inquiries), and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations).
4. Who receives the data
Your data is processed only by service providers that are needed to run the website and handle your inquiry. They act on my behalf under their own terms and data processing agreements.
- Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland) hosts this website. Its servers receive your visit data (server logs) and run the script that forwards your inquiry to my mailbox.
- Email provider: Infomaniak (Switzerland). Inquiries arrive in my mailbox as email, so this provider handles those messages.
Apart from these providers, data is shared with third parties only if the law requires it (for example, to authorities) or if you ask me to.
5. Transfers abroad
The website is hosted in Switzerland, and the site loads no fonts, scripts or other resources from third-party servers, so visiting it does not send your data abroad. Inquiries are stored only in my mailbox, not on the website.
6. How long data is kept
- Inquiries that do not lead to a booking: deleted after 12 months at most.
- Bookings and invoices: kept for the statutory retention period, currently ten years for business records under Swiss law.
- Server logs: kept by the hosting provider for a limited period, according to its settings. The website itself stores no inquiries.
Submissions can also be deleted earlier on request, unless a legal duty requires me to keep them.
7. Your rights
Under Swiss law, and under the GDPR where it applies, you can ask me at any time to:
- tell you what data I hold about you (access);
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data or restrict its processing;
- hand over the data you provided in a common format (data portability);
- stop processing you object to, or withdraw a consent you gave.
To use these rights, email me at the address in section 1. I may need to verify your identity first. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at edoeb.admin.ch, or with the data protection authority where you live.
8. Data security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and inquiries are delivered by email to a password-protected mailbox. No internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending confidential information through the form.
9. Links to other websites
This site contains links to external sites, such as photo credits on Unsplash. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and I am not responsible for them.
10. Changes
I may update this statement, for example if I add features or change providers. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top.
